SPONSORING A CHILD

CHANGES LIVES

Sponsoring a child makes a difference in their lives

Sponsoring a child through Bridge of Hope can break the cycle of barriers from children’s education. The child sponsorship is used to improve the educational opportunities of children in community we work in.

Rwandan government has made public education available to all citizens, but many children are still unable to go school due to the poverty from their families and this lead the rise of drop out because they can not afford the school supplies such as papers, pens and notebooks .trough your contribution will bring hope and change to a sponsored child’s life and community as well.

Understanding Sponsorship (Q&A)

What is sponsorship and how does it work?

When you become a child sponsor, you will begin a relationship with your child.

You will assist them in their progress through Primary and Secondary Education, as well as help them remain healthy through their childhood.

Every family faces different challenges, and you will have the opportunity to support your child through these challenges, ultimately taking part in allowing the child to realize their full God-given potential and come to a relationship with Jesus Christ, becoming a contributing member to Rwandan society.

This is made possible by your sponsorship donation, made by you annually, quarterly, or monthly, which pays for school fees, uniforms, health insurance, and more.

Your donations are used to meet the needs of your sponsored child’s community in Rwanda.

Because of your support, your child will receive food, daily shelter, education, school uniform, medical care, and health insurance. Sponsorship also ensures children hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

By donating, you help keep children safe while preparing them to shape their own future. To effectively combat children’s vulnerability, it’s important to address both symptoms and causes.

Your support enables us to overcome these barriers and help children reach their potential.

Only 30 $ per month is required to provide for:

When you sponsor a child at Bridge of Hope, you’ll receive a monthly update on their progress and growth, including the child’s photo, personal story, and sponsorship information.

The community of children at Bridge of Hope is thankful and honored to work with you.

Write A Letter

Suggestions of what to write :

  • Remind your sponsored child that they are the future of Rwanda and a light in dark places.

  • Encourage your child by letting them know that although there will be obstacles, you are there to support them through prayer and friendship.

  • Remind them that they are loved and special.

  • Encourage them to use the gifts God has given them. Discuss the positive things they’ve done and the things they’ve accomplished.

  • Share what God is showing you through your quiet time, study, or at church.

  • Although it is fun for your sponsored child to receive a letter in your writing with a photo, sometimes it is hard to find the time to do that.

  • You can email a quick note to your child here with a word of introduction or encouragement.

How long does sponsorship last?

Ideally, sponsorship will last until the child has completed secondary school and is prepared to either begin college or enter the workforce. As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to be a guiding force, an inspiration, and a provider throughout the child’s entire childhood and into young adulthood. Sponsorship is a commitment to support the child until they are raised as a productive member of society. Our goal is to see these children grow up and actively contribute to their communities, which might be until they are 18 or 22 years old.

What makes Bridge of Hope’s approach unique?
We approach things differently, focusing on initiating change from the outside-in: forming long-term partnerships with everyone who impacts a child’s life, whether it would be members of their family, community, nation, the wider world, or generous sponsors like you
We also transform a child’s world using an inside-out approach: empowering children at the grassroots level to be active participants and change-makers in their own lives.
This unique two-pronged approach has been proven to have an effective and long-lasting impact on vulnerable children, whether or not they are directly sponsored.
What does it mean to be a Bridge of Hope Child Sponsor?
  • Experience the joy of helping your sponsored child live a fuller, happier, healthier, and safer life.
  • For every child you sponsor, five more children in the same area directly benefit, too
  • You can build a personal connection with a vulnerable child who really needs you, and even travel to visit yours sponsored child.
  • Throughout our partnership, we provide frequent updates, photos, and videos so you can follow all the changes as they take place.
  • And, if you choose to, there are many ways for you to get involved and help improve the community for these children.
Will my sponsorship contributions go directly to one child?
Sponsored children do not receive direct cash benefits.
While each Bridge of Hope Child Sponsor is connected with one child,
we make the most of your donations by pooling funds to invest in long-term community development programs to transform whole areas.
By doing this we know that for every child you sponsor, five more children directly benefit too.
How are children chosen for sponsorship?
The families who receive our help are the ones who need it the most. Sponsored children are carefully chosen by people who know them best – local Bridge of Hope staff and their own community members through our community Home Cell groups.
At Bridge of Hope respecting the rights of parents is important to us.
That’s why parents and caregivers are the only people who are allowed to register a child for sponsorship, and their involvement continues throughout all program participation.
We take a great screening to make sure that the child is the one really in need.
